So, I’ve written about different tea brands, and about different gods, but I haven’t written about the different types of tea. I’m not sure if I should have one god for every type, so like herbal tea for Frigg, black tea for Thor and so on, or if I should have one tea like Blackbush or Breakfast tea for one God. Since I haven’t completly decided yet I will still write what god’s fits for what tea type. So here it is:
As many other tea types green tea originated in China, but are being produced many other places in Asia. It is known to have many health benefits, some say that it can help you loose weight , make you smarter, lowering the possibility of getting Alzheimer’s or cancer and loads more. According to Care2 green tea is the tea to drink if you are feeling stressed and want to cool down, as well as it being very natural. I think that perhaps Odin should be green tea, or Frigg. The reason to why I’m thinking Odin should have this type is because he’s associated with healing, but Frigg is perhaps the most obvious answer since when you think green you might think about a goddess, and not about Odin.
Herbal tea ( also called Tisane) is tea that are made from the infusion of herbs, spices or other plants in boiling water. It usually doesn’t have any caffein in them as other teas quite often have. You could say that herbal tea isn’t real tea because it isn’t made from the tea plant Camellia sinensis, but I’m ignoring that fact and keep calling it tea. You can serve herbal tea both hot or cold, it’s also a bit dangerous as some of the herbs are toxic allergic affect. This is why I think Loki is the perfect person for this tea, it’s not really a real tea (Loki isn’t a real god), it can be dangerous (Loki have killed) and in general, it fits. I was planning on having Freyja on this one, but as Loki suits it so much better I’ll have him on this one.
Black tea is a more stronger kind of tea, it usually has more caffein in it. Black Tea was first made in China. Black Tea doesn’t loose it’s flavour for many years as other teas might do, I think that Thor will be the best representative of this tea, or perhaps Loki. With Thor you can argue that it’s strong and powerful, but with Loki you can argue the same things, as well as that it’s black and Loki is kind of the black sheep. However, I kind of want Loki’s tea to be special, unique (like the Herbal Tea), so I might use this for Thor. According to Care2 you should drink black tea if you’re a bit tired and need a “Quick Pick – Me – Up”
According to Care2 white tes has the least amount of caffeine and contains the most antioxidants. “As it’s the least processed tea compared to other tea types, it has a light flavour that will go down smoothly” it’s from China and as with most of the other tea types it’s made from the plant “Camellia Sinensis” and has a very refined, but deliciously rounded flavour. I’m thinking that Freya can be the representative of white tea.
Oolong tea isn’t the most known tea out there. It’s like most teas, Chinese. According to wikipedia it is produced “through a unique process including withering the plant under the strong sun and oxidation before curling and twisting. Most oolong teas, especially those of fine quality, involve unique tea plant cultivars that are exclusively used for particular varieties.” I’m thinking that Frigg can be this tea as she is earthly and not extremely well known.
